Defining Paganism...... This is probably the hardest box to fill in! As I have previously stated it means so many different things to everyone. But here I go... :-P Paganism is a umbrella term for a broad variety of different faiths that are not the most popular religions of the world (for example Christianity, Islam etc) that share a love, respect and reverence for nature. Most of us are polytheists meaning that we believe in more than one deity or monistic meaning that they believe in (or only care about) this one reality and feel that everything can be explained in terms of a single reality.

Asatru/ Odinism/ The Northern Tradition..... This is the group of names for the Pagan beliefs hailing from the Northern European tribes, some of these include the Celts, Goths, Angles, Jutes along with many others. We follow the relatively famous Pantheon of Gods which include Odin, Thor, Freya etc. This sect of Paganism is often associated with Vikings, we are generally a proud people who are extroverted in our faith and we like to make merry and have a good drink! :p The nine noble virtues are central to our personal morality as well as the Eddas (Poetic and Prose), Havammal and the Icelandic sagas. In terms of its popularity within Paganism there is a modest following in the UK, Northern Europe and North America and even due to its Individual and self affirming nature there are a few organisations that exist that one can join if that floats your boat! (personally i have identified myself as Asatru and I am only just thinking about joining a Asatru group)
